Software Update | September 2023

For this release, we focused on a couple of new features: Multifactor Authentication and a new In-App Training and Resource Center.

Multifactor Authentication (MFA)

MFA is a new feature available within ChamberMaster and MemberZone that you may choose to enable, and once enabled, will require both staff and members to provide a secondary verification when logging into your database (backoffice) and/or the Member Information Center (MIC).

What is MFA?
MFA, or sometimes referred to as 2FA (2-factor Authentication), is a security measure that requires users to provide multiple pieces of information to verify their identity and grant access to a website or application. Instead of just a username and password, MFA adds an extra layer of protection by requiring additional verification.

Why is MFA important?
MFA enhances security by making it more difficult for unauthorized users to gain access to your account. Even if a bad actor manages to obtain your username and password, they would still need to have access to your email account to receive the temporary PIN required to complete the login process.

Is there anything I need to do?
If you'd like to enable MFA, we recommend notifying your staff and members of this upcoming change. A new communication template has been created to help facilitate this message to your members. The template references "effective today", however, you may modify and indicate any future effective date of your choice.

To enable MFA, simply check the box for the new setting found under Setup within the General Options & Settings area. Expand the Security & Privacy Settings section and navigate to the new checkbox labeled "Enable Multifactor Authentication".  For you, your staff and members, if they already have a login for the backoffice and/or MIC, you don't need to take any additional steps. MFA will be automatically enabled and applicable from that moment going forward.

As you attempt to log into the backoffice (or when members attempt to log into the MIC), you will be prompted to enter your username and password as usual. Upon successful entry of these credentials, you will receive an email containing a temporary PIN. You will need to enter this PIN on the login page to complete your login. MFA is required upon every login. This additional step ensures that only authorized users with access to the associated email account can log in.

Tip: This information is also available in the knowledge base.

Where do I find this? This new feature setting is found under Setup within the General Options & Settings area. Expand the Security & Privacy Settings section and navigate to the new checkbox labeled "Enable Multifactor Authentication".

In-App Training and Resource Center

Our new In-App Training Center is another new feature and it will start to include guides, flows, videos and other helpful information. Some of our goals for this tool are to help you learn more, introduce new product features, and gather feedback from you so that we can better target enhancements, training, and more. It also provides a way to quickly access and search the knowledge base and support resources.

Click on the "Need Help?"  button on the right side of the screen to access the new Resource Center.

Email Designer

When working with the ChamberMaster/MemberZone modules within Email Designer (such as New Members, Events, and News Releases), additional inline font controls are available to choose your desired font, font size, and alignment.

UserVoice Item!

Providing new features and more benefits is something that GrowthZone is committed to. Software release features are often generated from your feature requests. Those requests may be combined or adapted to fit with other requests or in response to industry related changes. We listen, evaluate, and implement based on greatest impact, most-requested, ability to integrate, and time-saving implication. In evaluating the benefit of one software release over another, please understand that sometimes the updates have required significant programming time but are not always visible in tangible terms. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you and your members.
